It seems like I have always loved to create art. In fourth grade it was drawing horses for a school bulletin board. When I was twelve, it was going to oil painting classes with my grandfather. As a high school senior, I enjoyed making a mess in sculpture class. I was always creating in one form or another.

Then something happened. I put down my paintbrush for a while and stopped creating. Life was busy with college courses, then getting married, making a home, and having children. But I didn't make any room for art.

Still, somewhere in the back of my mind, that need to create lived on. When I would see the works of artists (such as Mary Engelbreit, Susan Branch, Becky Kelly, and others) I could feel it stir.

Finally, just before Christmas 2011 I created some art for a dear friend of mine. She loved it and had me make more. She wanted me to paint things I never thought I could paint, but she was constantly motivating me to push the boundaries of what I thought I could do. She encouraged me to open an Etsy shop to sell my pieces. Since then, she has passed on, but the inspiration she gave to me still drives me forward.
